I am planning this Action Research study because my literature review (October 2010) did not reveal any relevant research that
specifically studied schools where there is a hign ESL percentage of students in Australian primary schools.
I expect this study will address:
What the issues are for organising grouping for literacy learning fpr ESL and/or 'at-risk' students?
Can we better understand why ESL and/or 'at-risk' students are not learning at a greater speed?
How do we describe previous research on this focus? Can we idenrify unanswered questions and might this study answer them?
Might we identify recommendations for future research, by having done this study?
Will the findings provide an organisational framework that will optimise student literacy learning for different cohorts?
